Ski touring backpacks: the essential mountain companion

Whether you're a ski touring or mountaineering enthusiast, a quality backpack is essential for enjoying your activity in the mountains. Depending on your needs and the duration of your outings, it's essential to choose a suitable bag, offering sufficient volume to carry your equipment in complete safety.

Ski touring backpacks are designed to meet the demands of this activity, offering specific features. Most models feature multiple pockets for optimal storage, making it easy to organize your belongings. You'll often find dedicated pockets for essential accessories such as avalanche transceivers, shovels and probes, essential for avalanche safety. Some models also include an airbag system for added safety in avalanche terrain.

Your choice of bag will depend on a number of criteria, not least its volume (expressed in liters), which should correspond to the amount of equipment you need for your outings. For example, for a short hike, a 20 to 30-liter bag may be sufficient, while for a mountaineering outing lasting several days, a volume of 40 liters or more is recommended. The bags are also equipped with adjustable shoulder straps and fastening straps to ensure maximum comfort, even when moving on steep slopes.

Comfort is another key criterion when choosing your ski touring bag. Ergonomic models feature adjustable shoulder straps and waist straps for better weight distribution and greater freedom of movement. Some bags even feature carrying systems for skis, snowboard or ice axe, to free your hands on difficult passages or when climbing.

In short, a good ski touring backpack must be functional, solid and adapted to the mountains. Whether you're heading out on the slopes or venturing off the beaten track, opt for a model that offers practical, secure storage for all your gear. Take advantage of our selection of bags and find the ideal companion for your mountain escapades.
