Founded in Augsburg, Germany, in 1898 by Hans Deuter, the brand began by manufacturing mailbags for Deutsche Post. It then went on to equip the German army, alpine expeditions, and mountaineering pioneers. More than 125 years later, Deuter remains a benchmark in the field of ergonomic and sustainable carrying systems.

Deuter: a German brand born for the mountains

Deuter quickly established itself as a preferred partner for mountaineers and explorers. From the 1930s onwards, its bags were used on iconic expeditions in the Himalayas.
