A competition helmet designed to meet the demands of racing

The Rossignol HERO GIANT FIS GREY is a ski helmet designed for competitive skiers who won’t compromise on protection and durability. With its full-shell design and ABS shell, it meets the requirements for FIS-approved events, from giant slalom to technical disciplines. Its race-fit profile wraps around the head up to the cheeks, ensuring a precise fit tailored to racing conditions. For competitors seeking a certified, rugged helmet built to withstand repeated impacts, the HERO GIANT FIS GREY offers a solution firmly rooted in the realities of competitive skiing.

Construction and Protection: An ABS Shell Designed for Multiple Impacts

The structure of the HERO GIANT FIS GREY ski helmet is based on a hardshell construction with a 3 mm-thick ABS outer shell, known for its impact resistance and long-lasting durability. In addition, the internal EPP (expanded polypropylene) foam—exclusive to Rossignol’s IMPACTS technology—is designed to absorb shocks during repeated impacts without losing its cushioning properties over time. This feature distinguishes EPP from conventional EPS foams, which can withstand only a single significant impact before needing to be replaced. The helmet is certified to CE EN 1077, ASTM F 2040, and FIS 2013 standards, ensuring compliance with international competition and alpine safety standards. The full-shell design extends protection down to the cheeks, in accordance with racing ski requirements.

Fit and Comfort: A Race Fit to Stay Focused on Performance

The Race Fit concept of the HERO GIANT FIS GREY prioritizes an anatomical, snug fit, with fixed 3D ear pads that conform to the shape of the face to minimize any unwanted movement during the run. The closure features a micrometric buckle, allowing for precise adjustment of the chin strap to adapt the fit to the athlete’s build and preferences. The inner padding, made of microfiber and mesh, is removable and washable, making it easy to maintain between training sessions and races. The helmet is available in four sizes—XS, S, M, and L—to accommodate a wide range of head shapes for both men and women.

Ventilation and Equipment Compatibility: Designed for Racing in Real-World Conditions

Despite its competition-oriented full-face design, the HERO GIANT FIS GREY features permanent ventilation channels that ensure continuous airflow during exertion, limiting heat buildup and fogging on the goggles. Its compatibility with the Hero chin guard—which can be installed without tools—allows you to increase facial coverage depending on the discipline or racing conditions, without needing to replace the entire helmet. Here are the key points to remember about this gear’s versatility:

• Integrated permanent ventilation: continuously active ventilation channels to maintain thermal comfort during exertion.
• Compatibility with the Hero chin guard: tool-free installation for enhanced facial protection during races.
• Removable and washable padding: simplified maintenance between each intensive use.
• Weight of approximately 580 g: consistent with the hardshell construction and the durability requirements of competition.

Designed for high-performance ski and snowboard helmets, the Rossignol HERO GIANT FIS GREY is primarily aimed at competitors in FIS-certified technical disciplines, but also at advanced skiers who want a rugged construction and multi-impact protection on the slopes. Its full-face design, CE EN 1077 certification, and EPP technology make it a solid choice for those who ski intensively and regularly.
