The Rossignol HERO GIANT FIS BLACK racing helmet, designed for high-level competition

The Rossignol HERO GIANT FIS BLACK ski helmet is designed for athletes competing in speed disciplines, particularly downhill and Super-G. Designed without compromise for competition, it combines top-of-the-line technical materials with certifications approved for FIS racing. Its full-face profile and aerodynamic shell reflect a design focused on precision and high-speed performance. This unisex helmet, available in four sizes (XS to L), is suitable for both experienced racers and young, developing competitors.

Construction and Protection: Materials Designed for Repeated Impacts

The structure of the Rossignol HERO GIANT FIS BLACK is based on a combination of complementary materials. The carbon fiber outer shell ensures rigidity and lightness, while the interior combines expanded polypropylene (EPP) and expanded polystyrene (EPS) to handle two distinct types of stress. EPP, thanks to its ability to return to its original shape after compression, supports IMPACTS™ technology, designed to absorb repeated impacts without compromising protection. EPS complements this system by absorbing high-intensity, single impacts. The helmet is certified to FIS 2013, CE EN 1077, and ASTM 2040 standards—three certifications that validate its level of protection for regulated competitions. The included Hero chin guard, which can be installed without tools, provides full facial coverage for disciplines where it is mandatory. The helmet weighs approximately 580 g, which is consistent with the level of built-in features.

Fit and Comfort: A Calibrated Fit for Racing

The Fit Race system structures the helmet’s fit around a full-face design with fixed ear pads, ensuring a stable fit even at high speeds. The 3D ear pads conform to the shape of the head and feature optimized ear channels, allowing for better perception of ambient sounds while racing. The micrometric buckle ensures precise and consistent tightening of the chin strap. The inner padding is washable, making it easy to maintain the helmet regularly between training sessions and competitions.

Ventilation and Mask Compatibility: Functional Efficiency in Racing Conditions

The helmet features integrated airflow channels that provide active ventilation during exertion, limiting heat buildup during runs. This integrated ventilation is a key feature of a competition helmet, where thermal management helps the runner stay focused and comfortable. Compatibility with the Hero chin strap, which features tool-free installation, allows for quick adjustment based on race regulations or the day’s conditions.

The Rossignol HERO GIANT FIS BLACK is designed for competitors tackling downhill and Super-G courses under regulated conditions. Its combination of certified standards, technical materials, and a precise fit makes it the ideal choice for those looking to improve or excel in a structured racing environment.
