Atomic BACKLAND 107 touring skis: the freetouring benchmark for memorable descents

Designed for skiers who love wide open spaces and thrills, Atomic BACKLAND 107 touring skis perfectly embody the spirit of freetouring. With their generous width and ultra-lightweight design, they are ideal for skiers who want to tackle long ascents while enjoying powerful, fluid, and committed descents. Atomic has put all its expertise into creating a versatile ski that performs in a wide range of conditions.

A wide, lightweight ski for modern touring

With a 107 mm waist, the BACKLAND 107 is clearly positioned as a ski for powder and virgin terrain. This width provides excellent float in deep snow, while maintaining great stability when the snow becomes denser or trampled. Despite its generous size, Atomic has succeeded in keeping the weight down thanks to its Ultra Light Woodcore.

This core cleverly combines poplar and karuba, two types of wood known for their lightness and responsiveness. The result is a ski that is easy to maneuver on the ascent, pleasant to handle in conversions, and not tiring on long ski touring trips. You thus benefit from an excellent compromise between efficiency on the ascent and performance on the descent.

Atomic technologies for lift and control

HRZN Tech: more surface area, more confidence

The HRZN Tech tip is one of the highlights of the BACKLAND 107. This technology increases the tip surface area by 10%, significantly improving floatation in deep snow. It also allows for better snow deflection, resulting in a more forgiving and stable ski in difficult conditions, especially in slushy or changing snow.

Thanks to this design, the ski remains predictable and easy to control, even when the snow hardens or becomes uneven. This allows you to maintain confidence in your lines, regardless of the conditions you encounter during your outing.

Carbon Blackbone: uncompromising stability and grip

To guarantee flawless performance on the descent, Atomic has incorporated Carbon Blackbone technology. This is a lightweight carbon insert that acts as a stabilizer along the entire length of the ski. This structure reinforces longitudinal rigidity and improves grip on hard snow, without ever weighing down the ski.

You'll enjoy a precise, responsive, and agile ski that can hold its line at high speeds while remaining playful when the terrain opens up and invites you to let loose.

Versatile performance in all conditions

The directional shape of the BACKLAND 107, combined with a 20/70/10 Powder Rocker, offers the ideal balance between maneuverability and stability. The traditional camber provides excellent grip on hard snow and good rebound out of turns, while the rocker at the tip and tail makes it easier to initiate turns and improves floatation in powder.

The DuraCap Sidewall construction, with solid edges under the binding, guarantees efficient power transmission and reliable grip when you tackle steeper slopes. The addition of fiberglass completes the package, offering a precise and comfortable feel on the snow.
