Equip yourself with a trekking bag
Choosing the best trekking backpack for your adventures
For your outdoor adventures, a trekking backpack is an essential piece of equipment. Whether it's for a day hike, a trip or a long trek, it's essential to choose a bag that will meet your needs in terms of volume, weight and type of carrying. The choice of the best bag will depend on a number of factors, such as your morphology, the bedding you need, the equipment you wish to carry, and the conditions of your adventure.
Volume and cubic capacity: what size bag should you choose?
A hiking bag for a day's outing will generally have a volume of between 10 and 30 liters, enough to carry the minimum: water, a change of clothes and a small first-aid kit.
For a trek lasting several days or a longer trip, it's best to opt for a 40 to 70-liter bag, to carry everything you need, including sleeping gear, personal belongings and bivouacequipment.
Organization: the importance of pockets and compartments in the bag
Pockets and compartments also play a crucial role, making it easier to organize the equipment in the bag. A large main pocket can hold bulky items, while side or front pockets are ideal for keeping essentials such as a map or snacks close at hand. Some bag models feature special pockets for safety gear, or separate compartments for quick access to clothing.
Carrying comfort: bag morphology and load distribution
Carrying systems and lumbar belt
When making a purchase, it's important to consider the bag's carrying system. An adjustable lumbar belt and ergonomic shoulder straps will distribute the load more evenly, reducing the feeling of fatigue.
Bags for women and children
Bags designed for women or children take into account differences in morphology to offer optimum comfort, with models adjusted to fit each user perfectly.
Lightness or capacity: the ideal backpack for every type of adventure
It's crucial to choose the right bag for the activity and the load, whether it's light for a brisk walk or heavier for a trek with all the necessary equipment. Brands offer different bag models with different features to suit all types ofadventure.
By choosing the right trekking bag, you'll make the most of every day spent in the wilderness, with all your gear organized and easily accessible.
