The Dakine Heli 2.0 Pro Backpack 20L: Gear Transport Designed for the Mountains

One of this backpack’s strengths lies in the versatility of its carrying systems. Skis can be secured diagonally or in an A-frame configuration depending on your preference, while a snowboard can be attached either horizontally or vertically. These carrying options keep your hands free to navigate varied terrain without compromising the stability of your load. A dedicated pocket for snow tools and a shovel rounds out the design, allowing you to carry safety gear without taking up space in the main compartment.

Interior organization tailored for winter outings

The bag’s interior reveals careful consideration of the specific needs of winter sports. The large fleece-lined pocket effectively protects ski goggles from impacts and scratches—a detail that truly makes a difference on the slopes. A quick-access exterior pocket lets you retrieve an item without fully opening the pack, and an interior mesh pocket offers additional storage for small accessories. The hydration compartment, designed to hold an insulated water bladder, can also accommodate a two-way radio, expanding its uses for group activities or in challenging conditions.

Carrying Comfort and Functional Features

The padded, quick-drying mesh back panel maintains airflow between your back and the pack, reducing heat buildup during climbs or on the hike back down. The 38 mm waist belt provides effective support without restricting movement, and the chest strap includes an emergency whistle—a feature that can prove useful in the event of an unexpected situation in the mountains. Measuring 55 x 32 x 20 cm, it offers enough space for a full day at the resort or an off-piste outing.
