The SALOMON Pulse + Pact Black is a package designed for riders who are just starting out or improving their snowboarding skills, whether on groomed runs or in varied terrain. It combines a forgiving and intuitive all-mountain board with flexible, ergonomic bindings to create a cohesive package from your very first day on the snow through to your first freestyle sessions. The promise of this package is simple: to offer a quick learning curve, plenty of room for error, and safe progression—all without sacrificing stability at high speeds.

An all-mountain profile designed for progression

The SALOMON Pulse + Pact Black Snowboard Pack is aimed at beginners to intermediate riders looking to explore the entire ski area without specializing too early. The Pulse board is tailored for all-mountain riding and beginner freestyle: it performs just as well on blue and red runs as it does on accessible snow park features. Its Directional Twin shape gives it true versatility, allowing you to ride comfortably in both directions while maintaining a slight downhill orientation. This profile is ideal for riders who want to progress on all types of terrain without having to change gear at every stage.

Soft flex and Flat Out Camber profile: stability and forgiveness

The Pulse board features a soft flex, an essential characteristic for beginner to intermediate riders: it forgives balance issues, makes it easier to initiate turns, and reduces fatigue by the end of the day. Its Flat Out Camber profile—flat between the bindings with camber underfoot—combines two complementary riding characteristics. The flat central zone provides forgiveness and minimizes accidental snags, while the camber underfoot maintains solid edge grip and generates enough pop to help you progress toward your first jumps or tricks. The BiteFree edges at the tips further smooth out transitions, reducing the risk of snagging on hard snow or in uneven conditions.

Wood and fiberglass construction: lightweight and durable

The construction of the SALOMON Pulse + Pact Black is based on proven materials for this riding segment. Here are the board’s key features:

• Aspen wood core reinforced with high-density birch strips: combines lightness with localized stiffness for balanced performance underfoot.
• BIAX LD fiberglass laminate: a bidirectional weave that provides flexibility and forgiveness, tailored to the desired soft flex.
• Pre-waxed extruded base: low-maintenance and easy to repair, ideal for riders new to the sport who want to minimize technical challenges.
• Radial sidecut: smooth transitions between the edges for progressive and intuitive turns.

Pact bindings: ergonomic design and easy-to-access adjustments

The Pact bindings complement the board with the same philosophy: flexibility, comfort, and ease of use. Their soft flex harmonizes perfectly with the Pulse’s performance, maintaining the overall forgiveness of the setup. The EVA foam underfoot absorbs vibrations on hard snow, while the Supreme Lite ankle strap and Lock-In toe strap securely hold the foot in place without restricting movement. The ergonomically designed spoiler and the 12° pre-rotated highback reduce fatigue in the neutral position. All strap and tilt adjustments are tool-free, which is a real advantage when making adjustments on the wine estate. The baseplate incorporates 30% nylon-fiberglass composite for a good balance between lightness and strength, and the IMS system keeps the disc screws in place during installation and adjustments. The Pact bindings’ universal disc is compatible with the Pulse board’s 2x4 mounting system, as well as other common configurations, simplifying future gear upgrades. The board is available in Regular and Wide versions to accommodate different body types.

The SALOMON Pulse + Pact Black snowboard pack is a well-rounded package for any rider just starting out or solidifying their fundamentals on the mountain, from all-mountain riding to their first steps in freestyle. The combination of a soft flex, a forgiving Flat Out Camber profile, and ergonomic tool-free bindings makes it a logical choice for a first full season or structured progression over several winters.
