Mammut CRATER IV HS HOODED JACKET WOMEN: 3-layer hardshell protection for your challenging adventures

The Mammut CRATER IV HS HOODED JACKET WOMEN is a 3-layer hardshell jacket designed to accompany you on mountaineering, hiking, and ski touring adventures when conditions get demanding. Its 3-layer GORE-TEX fabric with a PFC-free ePE membrane provides a reliable barrier against the elements while remaining breathable to keep you comfortable on the move. With a 100% recycled polyester shell and lining, this ski jacket is designed for women who care about their environmental impact. With its technical design and functional details, it delivers on a clear promise: to let you explore the mountains with protection, comfort, and freedom of movement.

Waterproof and breathable to withstand the elements

The Mammut CRATER IV HS HOODED JACKET WOMEN features a 3-layer GORE-TEX membrane with a PFC-free ePE membrane, designed to offer durable protection against rain, snow, and wind. The waterproof rating of 28,000 mm indicates a water column resistance suitable for severe mountain weather conditions. The water-resistant, two-way Aquaguard front zipper and the zippers on the front pockets reinforce this protection in exposed areas. The stated breathability rating of RET < 13 m² Pa/W helps wick away moisture generated by physical activity, reducing the feeling of internal dampness and contributing to your thermal comfort. To further optimize heat and moisture management, underarm vents with two-way zippers allow you to quickly increase ventilation as the intensity of your activity increases.

Freedom of movement and comfort in action

Designed for alpine activities and ski touring, this ski jacket features MAMMUT High Reach technology for optimal freedom of movement. This specific construction is designed to maintain a full range of motion in the shoulders and arms when you raise your hands, which is particularly important in mountaineering or during technical maneuvers. The pre-shaped sleeves naturally follow your movements without creating tension on the fabric. The helmet-compatible hood, adjustable both vertically and horizontally, helps maintain your field of vision while effectively protecting your head and neck from the elements. Weighing 444 g, the jacket remains relatively lightweight for a 3-layer hardshell, making it comfortable to wear on long approaches as well as in more challenging terrain.

Functional details and practical organization

Designed for intensive use in the mountains, the Mammut Crater IV HS Hooded Jacket Women features a pocket layout suited for technical routes. The two front pockets are compatible with a climbing harness, allowing easy access to your essentials even while roped up. They feature water-resistant zippers to protect their contents from spray and wet snow. Inside, a zippered pocket holds items you want to keep secure or close to your body. The two-way Aquaguard front zipper allows you to open from the bottom to adjust ventilation or access your mid-layer. The pre-shaped sleeves feature Velcro closures to adjust the fit at the wrists, while the drawcord-adjustable hem helps prevent cold air from entering at the bottom of the jacket.

To better visualize its benefits for everyday use in the mountains, here are the main functional features of this hardshell jacket:

• Adjustable helmet-compatible hood: effectively protects you while adapting to your mountaineering or ski touring gear.
• Zippered underarm vents: optimize ventilation during intense exertion to keep the interior drier.
• Harness-compatible front pockets: keep your essential accessories accessible even when wearing a climbing harness or technical pack.
• Adjustable hem and Velcro cuffs: allow you to fine-tune the fit to limit cold air from entering and improve comfort.
• Water-resistant zippers: provide extra protection for the contents of the pockets and the jacket against inclement weather.

Environmental Responsibility and Material Selection

This hardshell also features a material selection focused on sustainability. The outer fabric and lining are made from 100% recycled polyester, which promotes the reuse of raw materials and helps reduce the environmental impact compared to virgin fibers. The PFC-free GORE-TEX ePE membrane limits the use of perfluorinated compounds, often criticized for their persistence in the environment. For a technical ski, mountaineering, and hiking jacket, this balance between waterproof performance, breathability, and the use of recycled materials meets the expectations of female athletes seeking to combine outdoor activities with a more responsible approach.

With the Mammut CRATER IV HS HOODED JACKET WOMEN, you get a waterproof and breathable 3-layer hardshell jacket, designed to let you tackle mountain outings with confidence. Now you can fully enjoy your mountaineering, hiking, or ski touring adventures, keeping your focus on the route ahead rather than the weather.
