Designed for expert skiers looking for a high-performance alpine ski on the slopes, the XO 77 V3 BLACK is built for a light and dynamic carving experience. It is firmly geared toward recreational on-piste skiing, promising responsiveness and safety when initiating turns. Engineered in Switzerland and manufactured in Italy, this ski incorporates technologies derived from the World Cup circuit, adapted for experienced skiers. The V3 version stands out with a softer and livelier flex than the V7 version, making it the ideal choice for those who prioritize responsiveness and ease of initiation.

On-Piste Performance: Dynamism and Safety

The XO 77 V3 BLACK ski is designed for the piste. Its performance is described as grippy, dynamic, and stable, with easy turn initiation thanks to its geometry and profile. The V3 version, more flexible than its V7 counterpart, offers a responsive feel that suits expert skiers looking to string together turns with precision, without sacrificing comfort. This ski encourages an aggressive skiing style while maintaining a significant margin of safety, particularly thanks to its stability mid-turn.

Dimensions and radius: precise carving with a 77 mm waist

With a waist width of 77 mm, the XO 77 V3 BLACK is clearly positioned in the category of carving-oriented piste skis. Its overall dimensions—126 mm at the tip, 77 mm at the waist, and 107 mm at the tail—create a unidirectional shape that enhances grip and precision on groomed snow. The 13-meter turning radius for a standard length of 160 cm corresponds to a short-to-intermediate radius, ideal for the rhythmic, tight turns characteristic of technical carving on groomed slopes.

Hybrid profile: classic camber and tip rocker

The ski’s profile combines classic camber along most of its length with tip rocker, also known as Autorocker technology. This tip rocker facilitates turn initiation by reducing the tip’s initial resistance, while the central camber ensures crisp edge grip and dynamic rebound upon exiting the turn. This hybrid profile is particularly well-suited to hard snow and groomed runs—the ideal terrain for this ski.

Sandwich construction and wood core: lightweight and responsive

This ski’s construction is based on a sandwich architecture, combined with a full-length solid wood core. This core, reinforced by two full layers of fiberglass of different densities, ensures precise power transfer without adding weight. The absence of metal in the core directly contributes to the ski’s lightness, a feature that enhances the responsiveness felt with every turn initiation. The high-density racing base completes the package by ensuring optimal glide on groomed snow.

The XO 77 V3 BLACK is designed for expert and advanced skiers who primarily ski on groomed runs and are looking for a responsive, lightweight, and precise carving ski. Its short radius, hybrid profile, and sandwich construction make it a well-rounded choice for dynamic days on hard snow. If you regularly ski on groomed runs and want a ski that responds directly to your pressure while remaining maneuverable, this model deserves special attention.
