The Faction Prodigy 2 is an all-mountain alpine ski with freestyle DNA, designed for skiers who don't want to choose between the piste and the rest of the mountain. With its generous dimensions and hybrid rocker/camber/rocker profile, it handles a wide range of terrain, from moguls to couloirs to small natural bumps. It’s aimed at intermediate to expert skiers looking for responsiveness, stability, and true versatility. Its promise: to take you down every line, no matter the snow conditions.

A freestyle-oriented all-mountain ski for versatile skiers

The Faction Prodigy 2 is designed for skiers who explore the entire mountain, without limiting themselves to groomed runs. Its freestyle DNA is reflected in a directional twin-tip tail, which allows for switch turns as well as exits from moguls or small rocky ridges. With a side flex rating of 7 out of 10, it offers enough stiffness to meet the demands of an advanced or expert skier, while maintaining a progressive feel that remains accessible to a confident intermediate skier. This ski excels on all types of terrain: groomed runs, packed snow, light powder, or spring snow.

Dimensions and radius: an elliptical geometry for responsive turns

The Prodigy 2’s sidecut measures 127-98-119 mm, with a waist width of 98 mm that places this ski in a truly versatile range: narrow enough to grip on hard snow, wide enough to provide float in fresh snow. The turning radius varies by length, averaging around 18 m for the 177 cm model, which corresponds to a medium-to-long turn that remains stable at sustained speeds. Elliptical Sidecut technology plays a key role here: the radius is longer underfoot to facilitate quick pivots, and shorter at the tip and tail to initiate turns effortlessly. This geometry makes the ski both maneuverable and precise, without sacrificing stability in wide turns.

Hybrid Profile: Versatility on All Snow Conditions

The Faction Prodigy 2’s rocker/camber/rocker profile combines the best of both worlds. The central camber ensures grip and power transfer on hard or groomed snow, where precise carving is expected. The rocker zones at the tip and tail make turn initiation lighter and improve performance in fresh or uneven snow, preventing the ski from diving or losing grip. This hybrid profile is particularly well-suited to the ski’s all-mountain design, which must adapt to changing conditions throughout a day on the mountain.

Construction: wood core, carbon reinforcements, and Mustache Flex technology

The Prodigy 2’s construction is based on several complementary elements worth noting:

• Poplar core: a lightweight, responsive wood that contributes to the ski’s liveliness while absorbing vibrations on rough terrain.
• Carbon and rubber stomp pad: The carbon provides localized stiffness for stability at high speeds, while the rubber cushions impacts upon landing.
• Mustache Flex technology: It ensures stability in front of and behind the binding, with a progressive flex at the tip and tail for better control when planting the ski.
• Full Strength Sidewall: a solid sidewall construction that enhances force transfer to the 2.5 mm XL edges, providing crisp edge grip on hard snow.
• Sintered UHMW base: a high-density material that retains wax for a long time and ensures consistent glide over time.

The Faction Prodigy 2 is available in lengths ranging from 165 to 189 cm, allowing you to choose the length that best suits your build and skiing style. Whether you’re an intermediate skier looking to improve on varied terrain or an expert seeking a versatile and responsive ski to explore the entire mountain, this ski is designed for committed skiing without being one-dimensional. Its sustainability-focused construction, featuring recycled materials and a wood core, also makes it a great choice for those who care about the environmental impact of their gear.
