Designed for expert skiers competing on the race course, this unisex package combines the 185-cm Rossignol HERO ATHLETE GS ski with the SPX15 binding, creating a set engineered for high-level alpine racing. With a turning radius of 27 meters and a Rectangular Full Sidewall construction, it is aimed at club racers and competitors seeking precision and power on hard snow. The R22 World Cup plate, integrated as standard, completes a cohesive package for training and competition in giant slalom.
The Rectangular Full Sidewall construction forms the mechanical foundation of this ski. By maintaining a rectangular cross-section along its entire length, it maximizes energy transfer to the edges, ensuring crisp edge grip on hard snow and precise control of the line through the gates. Combined with a Full Camber profile, the ski maintains continuous contact along its entire length, promoting a progressive edge engagement and the smooth, long turns characteristic of giant slalom. The total weight of 2.15 kg per ski reflects the density of the materials used to meet the demands of the piste racing program.
The wood core, reinforced with Titanal inserts, gives this ski selective stiffness that absorbs vibrations without compromising responsiveness when exiting turns. LCT (Line Control Technology), developed by Rossignol, eliminates unwanted flex in the ski during edge engagement, resulting in a smoother line and consistent control even at high speeds. Fiberglass reinforcements complete the structure to balance torsion and ensure a consistent response across the entire profile.
The SPX15 Rockerace binding is compatible with ISO 5355 A-standard ski boots, as well as ISO 23223 A-standard GripWalk soles, offering versatility for use during both training sessions and competition days. It pairs with the R22 World Cup plate integrated into the ski—a raised interface that improves edge-engagement leverage and reduces the risk of edge contact during aggressive turns. Together, they form a cohesive package, with components calibrated to work in harmony on racing skis in this segment.
With a tip width of 102 mm, a waist width of 65 mm, and a tail width of 84 mm, the geometry of this 185 cm ski fully meets the standards for competitive giant slalom. The 27-meter turning radius allows for wide, smooth turns, well-suited to giant slalom courses on groomed slopes. These dimensions, combined with Full Camber, make this ski ideal for expert use on groomed terrain, where precision and high-speed stability take precedence over versatility.
