At the end of the 1940s, Karl Lenhart was working for a company that made wooden letters for bakery and butcher's signs. A keen skier, he was never satisfied with the quality of his poles. So he started making his own washers and handles for ski poles. Mass production began in 1960.
AsKarl Lenhart also had a background in aeronautics, he knew how to work with aluminium and composites, which enabled him to manufacture his own pair of poles in these two materials and market them in the 1970s under the name LEKI.
The contraction LEKI corresponds to the name of the owner as well as the head office: Lenhart in Kircheim.
The Speck-Sports team invites you to discover its selection of LEKI products.
