Stability and protection on technical terrain

The Salomon XA PRO 3D V9 GTX W 9 trail running shoes are designed to provide significant stability on technical terrain and in challenging conditions. The 3D Advanced Chassis™, positioned between the EnergyCell™+ midsole and the rubber outsole, provides structural support to better control foot movement while maintaining protection with each step. This construction supports your stride on rocky or mixed-terrain trails by limiting unwanted foot movement. The 3.5 mm lug depth and 11 mm heel-to-toe drop, with a heel height of 28.7 mm and a forefoot height of 17.3 mm, contribute to controlled ground contact, which is essential for maintaining clear footing on descents and during more technical traverses.

Grip and Traction for Trail Running

The All-Terrain Contagrip® outsole on the XA PRO 3D V9 GTX W is designed for the varied surfaces encountered in trail running. Made of rubber, it’s designed to adapt to wet, dry, hard, or uneven soil, helping you stay confident as the soil conditions change throughout your run. The 3.5 mm lugs provide solid grip on trails, while the trail-optimized midsole profile promotes a smooth transition between footstrikes. The combination of the EnergyCell™+ sole and this geometry aims to strike a balance between cushioning and energy return, supporting the foot without restricting it on faster sections.

Comfortable Fit and Protection from the Elements

The synthetic/textile upper, complemented by a textile lining and insole, wraps around the foot with a seamless, lightweight feel. The GORE-TEX membrane provides a protective barrier against harsh conditions, helping you stay focused on the trail rather than the elements. The Quicklace™ lacing system allows for a quick and even fit, simplifying the process of putting on the shoes and adjusting the support before setting off. Weighing 370 g per shoe, this women’s model prioritizes durability and protection, making it ideal for outings where foot safety takes precedence over extreme lightness.
