A precise balance between comfort and control for all-mountain snowboarding

Designed for all-mountain riding, the Salomon HIGHLANDER BLACK snowboard binding emphasizes board control while maintaining a high level of comfort over time. The stiff flex ensures immediate power transfer, promoting enhanced control at high speeds and in challenging sections. The lightweight and responsive design described by the manufacturer helps reduce fatigue while maintaining a precise feel on the snow. Versatile in its application, this unisex binding is suitable for a wide variety of winter terrain.

Shadow Fit technology and a responsive baseplate for a natural connection

At the heart of the Salomon HIGHLANDER BLACK snowboard binding, the Shadow Fit baseplate with a flexible heel cup is designed to create a more natural connection between the boot and the binding. Controlled flexibility at the heel allows the binding to follow your movements while maintaining efficient energy transfer to the board. The 45% fiberglass-reinforced nylon composite material strikes a balance between stiffness and lightness, resulting in a responsive baseplate without adding unnecessary weight. Kevlar® Quickwire technology, integrated into the binding, complements this design by enhancing energy transfer for quick and precise weight shifts.

Minima 3D spoiler and technical straps for a snug fit

The binding features an asymmetrical Minima 3D spoiler, designed to provide targeted heel and leg support while remaining lightweight. This specific geometry enhances control during back-foot turns and stability in turns. For foot support, the Shadow Lite instep strap is designed to wrap precisely around the instep, while the Ultra-Fit forefoot strap hugs the front of the foot to stabilize the boot within the binding. The aluminum buckles with MP ratchet provide reliable and durable tightening, with a smooth engagement mechanism to adjust the fit to the riding conditions without wasting time.

Universal compatibility and a sloped base for enhanced control

To easily integrate with different snowboards, the Salomon HIGHLANDER BLACK snowboard binding features a universal disc compatible with all existing mounting systems. This disc allows the binding to be mounted on a variety of inserts without any specific restrictions, making it easy to switch from one board to another throughout the seasons. The 2.5° angled base helps improve edge control by slightly adjusting the angle of the foot, with the goal of increased comfort and better support when edging. Salomon’s patented IMS (Integrated Mounting System) keeps the disc screws in place during adjustments, simplifying setup and minimizing unnecessary fiddling.

In summary, the unisex Salomon HIGHLANDER BLACK snowboard binding combines a responsive Shadow Fit baseplate, a stiff flex, and extensive mounting compatibility to meet the demands of all-mountain snowboarding.
