This technical base layer features enhanced moisture management combined with quick-drying properties, which limits the buildup of sweat against the skin and reduces the sensation of cold during recovery or descent phases. The thermal insulation provided by the construction and materials helps maintain a stable body temperature, even when the intensity of the effort varies. The fabric’s breathability complements this system by wicking away excess warm air, thereby preventing overheating during ascents.

Technical fabrics with recycled content

The Performance Warm Blackcomb is made from a blend of recycled polyester, polyamide, and spandex. Recycled polyester—which makes up the majority of the fabric depending on the version—gives the fabric its quick-drying and lightweight properties while reducing the reliance on virgin raw materials. Polyamide adds strength and durability to the fabric, while spandex ensures the fabric retains its shape and snaps back after every movement. This base layer is part of a collaboration with Protect Our Winters Switzerland, with a design inspired by the issue of glacier melt.
