Designed for men who engage in high-intensity outdoor activities, the M M 200 ZONEKNIT LS CREW is a technical merino wool base layer designed for running, snow sports, and hiking. Its construction incorporates ZoneKnit™ technology, which adapts thermoregulation to different areas of the body, combining targeted warmth with active ventilation. Made from 100% pure 18.9-micron merino wool, it feels exceptionally soft against the skin, without scratching or clinging.
ZoneKnit™ technology is based on body mapping: different thicknesses of merino wool and fabric structures are combined to provide warmth or ventilation where the body needs it. Open-knit zones are integrated into areas where heat naturally accumulates during physical activity, allowing the skin to breathe without compromising the garment’s overall insulation. This targeted approach sets this top apart from a traditional technical base layer with a uniform construction.
Merino wool, an annually renewable fiber, offers complementary natural properties: it wicks away moisture, resists odors without chemical treatment, keeps you warm in cold weather, and stays cool in warm weather. Weighing 250 g (size M), this mid-weight top is ideal for active winter use without adding unnecessary bulk.
The slim fit keeps the garment close to the body to optimize heat exchange without adding bulk under a midlayer. The raglan sleeve construction eliminates traditional shoulder seams, reducing friction points and allowing for a wider range of motion during the repetitive movements typical of running or skiing. Gussets under the arms enhance this freedom of movement in extreme positions.
Flatlock seams minimize skin irritation during long outings, while the extended hem provides better coverage for the lower back—an area that’s exposed during bending motions. Thumb loops help keep the sleeves in place and provide extra protection for the hands when conditions call for it. The crew neck completes the design by providing discreet support around the neck without restricting movement.
