Designed to meet the demands of high-level competition, the Rossignol X-IUM SKATING cross-country ski is intended for expert-level athletes and cross-country skiers who practice the skating style. Part of the Piste Racing program in the 2027 collection, it combines extreme lightness with efficient power transfer to meet the demands of high-level competition. Its construction incorporates materials and technologies directly derived from the World Cup circuit, ensuring consistent performance across all snow conditions encountered in races. For skiers seeking an uncompromising competition ski, it represents a leading technical benchmark.

A construction designed for skating competition

The Rossignol X-IUM SKATING is exclusively designed for the skating technique, where every lateral stride demands a ski capable of instantly returning energy. The Activ Cap construction ensures a precise balance between torsional stiffness and flexible flex, offering reliable stability regardless of speed or track conditions. The tip and tail profiles have been specifically optimized for the push mechanics unique to skating, promoting smooth acceleration and continuous glide between strides. Available in lengths of 180, 186, and 192 cm, it allows skiers to choose the length that best suits their build and stride style.

High-end materials for optimized weight

The performance of the X-IUM SKATING relies largely on its choice of materials. Here are the key components that define its performance:

• Full-length high-modulus carbon: reduces the ski’s weight while increasing power transfer with every push.
• Nomex Honeycomb core: an ultra-lightweight aramid fiber honeycomb structure that lightens the ski without sacrificing structural stiffness.
• Total Edge technology with full-length ABS sidewalls: improves edge grip and precision on hard or icy snow.
• Double Guide Groove Skating: optimized base grooves to improve tracking and directional stability while gliding.
• K 7000 Universal 2.0 Base with World Cup Finish: a glide surface prepared for immediate performance, compatible with competition waxing.

S2 flex and camber: performance tailored to variable conditions

The S2 setup features a flex and camber optimized to excel in a wide range of snow conditions. A stiff camber provides the necessary power during acceleration, while the flex profile promotes progressive and efficient energy return. This ski is designed for cross-country skiers capable of generating a strong, consistent push, making it a solid choice for experienced competitors seeking predictable performance on groomed trails. Like any competitive skating cross-country ski, it is intended to be waxed according to the day’s snow conditions, which requires proper technical preparation before each outing.

Binding compatibility: Turnamic system and IFP plate

The Rossignol X-IUM SKATING is equipped with an IFP binding plate, compatible with the Turnamic binding system. This standard also accepts NNN and Prolink boot soles, offering significant versatility for athletes who wish to keep their usual boots. This expanded compatibility makes it easier to put together a cohesive setup without limiting boot choice.

The Rossignol X-IUM SKATING stands out as a complete competition tool for expert cross-country skiers practicing skating in race or intensive training settings. Its combination of high-modulus materials, Activ Cap construction, and S2 binding system makes it a ski tailored for those seeking to push their limits on groomed trails, with equipment that matches their athletic ambitions.
