Designed for elite slalom sk iers, the Rossignol Hero FIS SL FAC 165 package combines an FIS-approved ski with the SPX15 binding to meet the demands of competition. With sidecut dimensions of 119-67-102 mm and a turning radius of 13 meters, this 165 cm ski is designed for the short turns and rapid edge changes characteristic of slalom. Line Control (LCT) technology and the rectangular Full Sidewall construction make it a precise, stable, and powerful tool right from the first gates.

The Rossignol Hero FIS SL FAC 165 package: a design built for competition performance

The ski’s structure is based on a Rectangular Full Sidewall construction, which maximizes edge-to-snow contact throughout the entire turn. This geometry directly transmits the skier’s intentions to the snow without energy loss, delivering a balance of precision and power rarely achieved outside the World Cup circuit. The poplar and beech wood core provides the lightness needed for responsiveness, while the Full Titanal layer enhances torsional stiffness to dampen vibrations at high speeds. The Full Camber profile, characteristic of racing skis, ensures a crisp rebound upon exiting turns and solid edge grip when entering turns—two essential qualities for navigating gates at a steady pace.

Glide and protection: components tailored to race conditions

The Sintered UHD base offers optimal wax absorption and superior glide, two critical factors on groomed competition courses. The R22 Race Plate ensures force transmission between the boot and the ski with precision that meets FIS requirements. The Slalom Tip Protector, integrated into the tip, is designed to absorb repeated impacts from slalom gates without altering the ski’s performance. Weighing 2.15 kg per ski, the overall weight remains within the limits appropriate for use in FIS-approved racing.

FIS certification validates its use in official competition

FIS World Cup certification confirms that this ski meets the geometric and construction standards required for official slalom events. Line Control (LCT) technology helps maintain a stable line and precise control in the most demanding conditions, whether on an icy course or snow that has been compacted by other racers. This level of certification makes it a tool reserved for skiers who have already mastered the fundamentals of racing and are looking to improve within a structured competitive environment.
