Designed for intermediate-level cross-country skiers, the Salomon RS 8 Vitane combines skis with a fiberglass-reinforced Stringer core and a G5 Racing base with a World Cup Grinding finish for fast glide on all snow conditions. D2FC technology ensures optimized flex and camber, while the Prolink Shift bindings—adjustable forward or backward—allow you to fine-tune the balance between grip and glide depending on conditions.
Designed for intermediate female cross-country skiers who use the skating technique, this unisex pack combines Salomon RS 8 Vitane skis with Shift BDG bindings in a set designed to offer both lightness and versatility. The Vitane geometry is tailored to the female body, while the universal stiffness allows you to tackle a wide variety of snow conditions without compromising responsiveness.
The fiberglass-reinforced Stringer Core forms the backbone of these cross-country skating skis. It provides a favorable stiffness-to-weight ratio, resulting in a precise response to every push without adding weight to the ski. D2FC Digital Dynamic Flex Control technology calibrates the flex and camber along the entire length of the ski, ensuring consistent performance regardless of the phase of the glide. Balanced Camber complements this system by improving stability on flat terrain and in turns—a noticeable advantage as the pace picks up.
The G5 Racing Base features a World Cup Grinding finish, a surface treatment that optimizes contact with the snow and promotes fast glide in a variety of conditions. With a 43 mm waist and a weight of 665 g per ski, the set remains compact and maneuverable, suitable for both resort outings and club-level competitions. Grip depends on the wax, which requires preparation tailored to temperature conditions but, in return, offers complete freedom in choosing glide products.
The Shift BDG bindings stand out for their plate-mount system and longitudinal adjustability: a forward position enhances grip, while a rearward position prioritizes glide. This flexibility allows you to fine-tune the ski’s performance without changing equipment. They are compatible with Prolink, Turnamic, and NNN-standard boots, making them compatible with a wide range of boots already on the market.
The Salomon RS 8 Vitane cross-country ski set with Shift BDG bindings is available in three lengths—174, 179, and 186 cm—to suit the size and skill level of every skier looking to improve their skating technique on all-mountain snow.
