Designed for young cross-country skiers, the Fischer TWIN SKIN RACE JR SET + TOUR STEP IN JR IFP Nordic Ski Pack is intended for classic-style cross-country skiing. It’s aimed at juniors looking for a complete set that combines skis and bindings for regular use on groomed trails. Twin Skin technology with integrated mohair skins and the Air Channel Basalite core are at the heart of this model, providing controlled grip and smooth glide on hard or icy snow. This set is available in several ski lengths to accommodate different body types among young skiers.

A classic Nordic ski set designed for juniors

This Fischer TWIN SKIN RACE JR SET + TOUR STEP IN JR IFP Nordic ski set is specifically designed for juniors, with a focus on classic cross-country skiing. The skis come with Tour Step-In Jr IFP bindings, forming a set ready to be mounted on the integrated IFP plate. This plate makes it easy to install the bindings and ensures simple setup, tailored to the needs of young skiers. The available lengths, ranging from 147 to 177 cm, allow you to choose a size that matches the skier’s build and skill level.

Twin Skin technology and mohair skins for the grip zone

Twin Skin technology features two strips of mohair integrated into the ski’s grip zone, providing effective grip for classic-style skiing on hard or icy snow. This design eliminates the need for a waxable grip zone while maintaining consistent grip under the conditions specified by the manufacturer. The mohair skins contribute to stable grip while facilitating the smooth, progressive glide characteristic of classic-style cross-country skiing. This specific contact zone is designed to support the young skier’s motion between the push phase and the glide phase.

Air Channel Basalite core and lightweight construction for junior skis

The Air Channel Basalite core of the TWIN SKIN RACE JR SET combines a wood core with air channels and basalt fibers. This design reduces the ski’s weight while maintaining a uniform structure. With a listed weight of 860 g per ski in the 147 cm length, this model remains lightweight for junior use, which enhances maneuverability and control on cross-country ski trails. The distribution of materials within the core is designed to balance stability and lightness—an important factor in supporting young skiers’ progress.

Tour Step-In Jr IFP Bindings and Boot Compatibility

The package includes Tour Step-In Jr IFP bindings, mounted on an IFP plate designed for this system. These bindings are compatible with Rottefella (NNN), Prolink, and Turnamic boot standards, allowing for the use of various models of cross-country ski boots that meet these standards. The manufacturer notes that the bindings are not compatible with the NNN NIS (Rottefella) or SNS (Salomon) systems—useful information to verify the boot’s compatibility before use. The combination of skis and bindings forms a cohesive package for young skiers practicing classic cross-country skiing on a regular basis.

The Fischer TWIN SKIN RACE JR SET + TOUR STEP IN JR IFP Nordic Ski Pack thus offers a classic junior set combining Twin Skin technology, an Air Channel Basalite core, and Tour Step-In Jr IFP bindings compatible with multiple boot standards.
