A little history
The Planks Clothing brand was born out of the passion of a young Englishman, Jim Adlington, who had a passion for skiing.
For over a decade, he spent his winters perfecting his style on a 50m-long slope at Kidsgrove, dreaming of just one thing: a season in the Alps. This dream came true at the age of 18, when he spent his first season in Val d'Isère, taking on one job after another, no matter what they were, as long as they enabled him to ski every day.
His adventure as a professional skier began in 1998 when he was sponsored by Salomon, Osprey and Vans. His skills as a skier opened many doors for him, but also enabled him to meet numerous athletes such as the renowned Candide Thovex. It was these people and their experiences that helped Planks Clothing blossom into what it is today.
During his years in Val d'Isère, he noticed a change in the style of skiing that exceeded all his expectations. The practice of freeride (off-piste skiing) was developing in the resorts to such an extent that it became a world championship and an Olympic discipline.
The DNA of Planks Clothing was born of this change in mentality. An offbeat spirit for those in search of freedom and creativity.
The spirit of the company
Skiing should always be a source of happiness, and Planks Clothing understands this. It's about expressing who you are through how you ski, where you ski and what you wear. Planks Clothing 's DNA is all about having fun, and that obviously includes clothing.
The aim is to produce clothing to suit everyone, whatever their style: piste, park or backcountry, there's something for everyone.
This small core of riders draw on their personal experiences, English design, mountain lifestyle and street culture to constantly innovate and offer ever more surprising products.

Indeed, the environment has become a thorny issue of late, which is why many companies such as Planks Clothing are seeking to reduce their environmental impact. This includes working with REPREVE, one of the world's leading manufacturers of recycled yarns, to incorporate recycled materials in over 50% of their products.
