The Atomic MAVEN 88 CTI BLACK skis are designed for a unisex audience seeking versatility in alpine skiing, both on the slopes and in varied terrain. With a waist width of 88 mm and a sidecut of 121-87-106 in the standard 165 cm length, they offer an appealing balance between precise edge grip and a smooth ride. Their construction, combining a wood core with carbon and Titanal reinforcements, aims to strike a balance between stability and responsiveness, making them ideal for all-mountain skiing. The standard length of 165 cm and a turning radius of 15.5 m provide a progressive turn, suitable for skiers looking for a serious ski without being extreme.

A balanced all-mountain alpine ski for varied terrain

Classified as an alpine ski, the Atomic MAVEN 88 CTI BLACK stands out with a waist width of 88 mm, placing it squarely in the all-mountain segment and designed to handle both groomed runs and more variable snow conditions. The sidecut—121 mm at the tip, 87 mm at the waist, and 106 mm at the tail for the 165 size—creates a ski with enough sidecut to initiate turns while maintaining a good contact patch. The 15.5-meter turning radius in the standard length promotes a progressive and controlled ride, making it ideal for a ski designed to handle a variety of turns without being limited to a single type. The availability in multiple lengths—165 and 172 cm—allows the ski’s performance to be tailored to the skier’s height and preferences, while maintaining the model’s versatile DNA.

CTI Powered construction for stability and precision

At the heart of the Atomic MAVEN 88 CTI BLACK skis lies a Power Woodcore made of ash and poplar—a wood core that provides a stable foundation and absorbs some of the vibrations felt underfoot. This core is combined with a CTI Powered construction—a blend of carbon and titanal—designed to provide a more consistent flex from tail to tip. For the skier, this translates to a greater sense of stability—especially when maintaining pressure through a turn—as well as improved consistency across the entire length of the ski. The weight of 1,450 g per ski in size 165 remains reasonable for an all-mountain model, contributing to a smooth handling experience without making edge-to-edge transitions unnecessarily heavy.

All-Mountain Rocker and HRZN 3D Tip for Changing Snow Conditions

The Atomic MAVEN 88 CTI BLACK skis feature an All-Mountain Rocker with an early rise at the tip, complemented by an HRZN 3D tip. This combination provides a larger contact area at the front of the ski, resulting in more forgiving handling when the snow becomes uneven, while minimizing digging in during deeper sections. The ski’s directional profile channels this geometry into a focused ride, with solid edge grip on turn entry and a predictable turn exit. The Dura Cap Sidewall
