K2 RECON X 110 BOA Ski Boots

Designed for experienced skiers seeking a balance between responsiveness and comfort on all types of slopes, the K2 RECON X 110 BOA is aimed at advanced to expert skiers who practice all-mountain skiing. With a flex rating of 110 and an integrated BOA® closure system, they offer precise technical responsiveness without sacrificing everyday comfort. The construction incorporates several proprietary technologies that work together to enhance stiffness, support, and shock absorption. For skiers who spend their days tackling varied terrain, the K2 RECON X 110 BOA is a versatile and ready-to-use tool.

110 flex and MultiFIT fit: a boot designed for advanced skiers

The 110 flex places the K2 RECON X 110 BOA in the stiff boot category, suitable for skiers who have mastered their footwork and want their movements to be directly transmitted to the ski. This level of stiffness is particularly well-suited for advanced to expert skiers of lighter build, who can take advantage of the shell’s stiffness without experiencing excessive muscle fatigue. The MultiFIT Last, with a metatarsal width ranging from 97 to 100 mm, offers a medium fit that adapts to a wide variety of foot shapes—neither too narrow nor too wide. This dimensional versatility also makes the bootfitter’s job easier, allowing them to fine-tune the fit without major structural constraints.

Precise Lacing and Easy On/Off

The closure system combines several complementary elements for a comprehensive and customizable fit. The BOA® Fit System, positioned on the lower shell, allows for progressive and uniform tightening of the foot via a micro-adjustable cable, without localized pressure points. Two lightweight alloy buckles secure the upper shell, while a 40-mm Velcro Power Strap reinforces the collar’s lock around the shin. The Fastfit Instep feature makes it easier to slip your foot into the boot—a real advantage when repeatedly putting on and taking off your boots at the resort. Together, these elements form a tiered tightening system that allows you to adjust each area of the foot independently.

Thermal Comfort and Liner Customization

The P4 Heat Moldable Liner / LuxFit Pro liner is heat-moldable, meaning it can be shaped with heat to precisely conform to the foot’s contours. This process, which can be performed by a boot fitter or at select equipped retail locations, improves internal support, reduces pressure points, and optimizes power transfer. The shell itself is also thermoformable, which expands customization options for atypical foot shapes. The 4.5° ramp angle and Dual Adjustable Cuff Alignment allow the boot to be adapted to the skier’s foot shape and skiing style.

Power Transfer and Construction Technologies

The stiffness and control of the K2 RECON X 110 BOA are based on several structural technologies. Powerfuse Spyne reinforces the connection between the shell and the cuff to improve precision during turns, while Energy Interlock ensures a smooth connection between these two components during flex. The Powerlite Shell, made of TPU, provides stability and lightness to the shell. The Modular Honeycomb Boot Board, located underfoot, helps absorb shocks and can be adjusted to customize comfort. These technologies work together to ensure that the energy generated by the skier is transferred to the ski with minimal loss. The removable and interchangeable GripWalk ISO 23223 sole ensures good traction when walking and compatibility with modern alpine bindings designed to this standard.

For an experienced skier who practices all-mountain skiing on varied terrain and wants a boot that’s adjustable, thermoformable, and equipped with a precise BOA® lacing system, the K2 RECON X 110 BOA offers a well-balanced combination of performance and adaptability. Their modular construction and compatibility with boot fitting make them a solid choice for skiers seeking a custom fit.
