A warm mid-layer for freeriding and the mountains

The Norrona Women’s LOFOTEN WARM2 Midlayer is a warm fleece jacket originally developed for freeriding, making it a natural choice for skiing and snowboarding in winter. It’s also suitable for mountaineering, trekking, and more broadly, any outdoor activity where you need effective insulation without sacrificing mobility. Weighing just 282 g in size M, it provides significant warmth while remaining easy to wear under a protective jacket. Its technical cut follows your movements, promoting ease during skin-up ascents, approaches on mixed terrain, or challenging hikes.

Thermal comfort and moisture management with warm™2 fabric

At the heart of this midlayer is a warm™2 fabric weighing between 200 and 300 g/m², which combines warmth with moisture-wicking properties. This material is designed to maintain a stable body temperature during exertion, while promoting the transfer of sweat to the outside. This ensures consistent thermal comfort, which is especially useful during the changes in pace typical of freeride skiing or trekking ascents. The fabric’s structure balances insulation with efficient drying, minimizing the feeling of cold when activity slows down.

A functional design for versatile outdoor use

The Norrona Women’s LOFOTEN WARM2 Midlayer features details designed for regular use in the mountains. The full-length front zipper makes it easy to put on and allows you to quickly adjust ventilation based on conditions. The hand-warmer pockets provide a convenient space to keep your hands warm or store small accessories and personal items within easy reach. The soft, comfortable collar enhances comfort against the skin and minimizes irritation around the neck, especially when wearing a neck gaiter or backpack straps. A zippered chest pocket lets you securely store an essential item, such as a phone or document. The stretchy cuffs with thumb holes help keep the sleeves in place and maintain thermal continuity between the fleece and your gloves. The elastic hem and the longer, asymmetrical back help provide good coverage for the lower back—an important factor for retaining heat during repetitive movements or torso rotations.

A Committed Approach to Manufacturing

Beyond its technical qualities, this midlayer is part of a more responsible approach to textile manufacturing. It is manufactured in Lithuania as part of a plan to reduce CO2 emissions by 2029 and to use 100% renewable energy at the relevant sites. The brand has implemented a code of ethical conduct, which notably limits the use of certain chemicals to reduce the impact on the environment and human health. The packaging is recyclable, reflecting a holistic approach to the product’s life cycle. These features complement the technical profile of the Norrona Women’s LOFOTEN WARM2 Mid Layer for outdoor enthusiasts who are mindful of how their gear is produced.
