Mammut NIRVANA 35 Backpack
The Mammut Nirvana 35 is a unisex backpack designed for freeriding and ski touring, created for those who venture into the winter mountains with specific technical requirements. Its 35-liter volume offers ample capacity for challenging day trips, while its CONTACT U-Frame™ construction ensures a secure fit by using an internal frame that keeps the pack close to the back. Two features immediately set it apart: full rear access to the main compartment and a dedicated pocket for avalanche safety gear, both directly accessible without taking the pack off.
A structured carrying system for demanding winter terrain
The CONTACT U-Frame™ construction, combined with dual-layer high-density EVA back padding, ensures load stability even on rough terrain. The padded, detachable hip belt allows the pack to be adjusted to the user’s body type and the demands of the activity, whether ascending on skins or using crampons. The padded shoulder straps complement this carrying system by distributing the load over time. The pack weighs 1,400 g and has a volume of 35 liters—a balance that aligns with the level of gear it accommodates.
The Nirvana 35, equipped for winter mountaineering
The diagonal and A-frame ski-carrying systems allow you to carry your skis hands-free—a necessity during technical sections on foot. The snowboard mount expands compatibility to other snow sports. Mounts for an ice axe and trekking poles round out the array of external attachments. The integrated helmet holder makes it easy to stow your helmet quickly during transitions, and the padded compartment for goggles protects this fragile gear without taking up space in the main compartment. Compatibility with a hydration system allows you to integrate a water bladder without altering the load configuration.
Safety and Environmental Responsibility
The front pocket dedicated to avalanche safety gear provides immediate access to emergency equipment—a feature that can make all the difference in the event of an incident. The integrated SOS label with emergency instructions serves as a useful visual cue for bystanders responding to a critical situation. The pack is also compatible with a Mammut back protector, sold separately, for users who wish to enhance this aspect of safety. In terms of materials, the Nirvana 35 is made of 90% polyamide and 10% polyester, sourced primarily from recycled materials, is PFC-free, and is certified bluesign® APPROVED—a certification that attests to compliance with environmental and safety criteria in textile production.
