The GNU Antigravity is a board designed for riders looking to push the limits of freeride and all-mountain riding without sacrificing precision on groomed runs. Designed for intermediate to expert riders, it combines modern directional geometry with an aggressive camber profile for a ride that’s stable, responsive, and confident. Its handcrafted construction, made by hand in Washington State under the Mervin Made label, reflects a level of craftsmanship that’s evident in every turn. The GNU Antigravity snowboard is for riders who want to explore open terrain, off-piste lines, and long runs with a board that responds with precision.

A camber profile tailored for freeriding and control in all conditions

The GNU Antigravity’s C3 Camber profile features pronounced camber zones at the points of contact with the snow, combined with a slight rocker between the feet. This technical design delivers precise and energetic handling: the camber provides solid edge grip during carving and natural pop when exiting turns, while the central rocker offers increased forgiveness and makes it easier to initiate spins. Whether on hardpack or powder, this hybrid profile maintains a high level of control, making it ideal for advanced intermediate and expert riders seeking a versatile yet downhill-oriented board.

Flex and responsiveness: a board that engages without hesitation

With a flex rating of 6.5 out of 10, the GNU Antigravity falls into the medium-stiff range, which is perfectly suited for high-speed freeride and all-mountain riding. This flex level offers enough stiffness to maintain stability at high speeds and on varied terrain, while retaining relative flexibility that allows for smooth transitions and a certain degree of forgiveness on technical sections. This isn’t a board designed for the park or freestyle: the medium-stiff flex rewards aggressive riding, firm pressure, and active terrain reading.

Directional shape and edge technology for uncompromising grip

The directional shape of the GNU Antigravity snowboard, with a nose slightly longer than the tail, enhances float in powder and naturally orients the board forward. This geometric setback makes it easier to ride in fresh snow and improves stability on the descent, though it comes at the expense of switch riding, which isn’t well-suited to this type of shape. Magne-Traction technology, with its 7 notches along the edge, increases the effective contact surface with the snow, resulting in superior grip on ice and in variable conditions, without having to force your weight into the turns.

Lightweight and durable construction: materials designed for performance

The construction of the GNU Antigravity is based on material choices consistent with its technical ambitions. Several elements are worth highlighting:

• FSC-Certified G Lite 1 Core (poplar and paulownia): a lightweight construction that reduces the board’s overall weight while maintaining a good level of responsiveness and pop.
• Tri-Ax/Bi-Ax fiberglass laminates: The combination of these two fiber orientations provides both controlled torsion and longitudinal stiffness, ideal for freeriding.
• UHMW sidewalls at the tip and tail: this highly impact-resistant material absorbs shocks and extends the board’s lifespan on rough terrain.
• Eco Sublimated Co-Ex base: a durable, low-maintenance base designed for smooth glide across all snow conditions encountered in all-mountain riding.

The FSC certification of the core and the eco-sublimated construction reflect a commitment to responsible manufacturing, without compromising the board’s performance.

Setup and Binding Compatibility

The GNU Antigravity features a 2x4 insert system, compatible with standard 2x4 disc bindings. This widely adopted standard offers great flexibility in choosing bindings and allows you to precisely adjust the spacing and mounting angles to suit your body type and riding style.

The GNU Antigravity snowboard is a well-rounded board for intermediate to expert riders who enjoy freeriding, long all-mountain runs, and off-piste adventures. Its combination of C3 camber, medium-stiff flex, and directional shape makes it a reliable tool on varied snow, capable of carving precisely where conditions become challenging. The 159W version, thanks to its width, is particularly suited for riders with larger feet who want to enjoy all these features without compromising on grip.
