GNU UPGRADE Snowboard – The ultimate all-mountain freestyle board by Hendo

The GNU UPGRADE snowboard is the culmination of more than 30 years of expertise from Mervin Manufacturing and five years of intensive prototyping led by Jeff "Hendo" Henderson, a true snowboarding legend. Designed as a true "one board quiver, " this all-mountain/freestyle model with a directional twin shape is aimed at demanding riders looking for a board that excels in all conditions.

An ultra-versatile Directional Twin shape

The GNU Upgrade is based on a carefully balanced directional twin ATV. Its shape allows you to ride freestyle as well as carve aggressively or ride in soft snow, while maintaining excellent balance and an intuitive feel underfoot. The ¾" setback stance offers the perfect compromise between control on hard snow and float in powder.

C2X Directional profile: power, pop, and forgiveness

The heart of the GNU Upgrade's performance lies in its directional C2X profile. It combines:

• Short rocker between the feet

For better maneuverability, increased forgiveness, and a playful freestyle feel.

• Tighter, more dynamic camber under the rear foot

Generates explosive pop and powerful rebound out of turns.

• Longer, progressive camber towards the nose

It improves stability at high speed and floatation in deep snow, reinforced by a gentle early rise and a micro rolled nose to prevent unwanted snagging.

The result: a feel very similar to classic camber, but with more forgiveness, comfort, and versatility.

Intelligent directional grip with Magne-Traction®

Directional Triple Serration Magne-Traction® concentrates grip in key areas: underfoot and on the frontside edge. The tips remain clean and free of unnecessary grip, ensuring a smooth, precise and predictable ride, even on hard or icy snow.

Directional "On Demand" sidecut and harmonized flex

The directional triple-curve sidecut offers a progressive turn initiation, a stable middle section, and an aggressive turn exit on the tail side. The directional core features:

• A stiffer nose

For stability, power in soft snow, and control at high speeds.

• A more flexible tail

For freestyle, carving, control, and forgiveness.

The whole thing is reinforced with a carbon fiber pack that boosts pop without weighing down the board.
