Designed for mountaineering, the Millet KAMET GRID mountaineering fleece is intended for men seeking warmth and breathability during strenuous mountain activities. This technical fleece features a stretchy POLARTEC® Power Grid fabric that promotes comfort and freedom of movement. Its fitted cut and raglan sleeves move with you without restriction, even when wearing a harness. Manufactured in Millet factories from primarily recycled polyester, it is part of a more responsible approach. Its design has been updated to reflect the brand identity of MILLET.

A technical and versatile men’s mountaineering fleece

The Millet KAMET GRID mountaineering fleece is a men’s fleece designed for demanding mountain activities, from ski mountaineering to winter mountaineering expeditions. Its slim, active fit stays close to the body while allowing good freedom of movement, making it suitable for sequences of rope maneuvers or field operations. Weighing just 338 g, it is lightweight for its category, making it easy to wear as a mid-layer in a layering system. Its inclusion in the WINTER collection underscores its suitability for the cold conditions encountered at high altitudes.

The thermal comfort and breathability of POLARTEC® Power Grid

At the heart of this mountaineering fleece, the POLARTEC® Power Grid stretch fabric —composed of 94% recycled polyester —ensures a balance between warmth, comfort, and breathability during exertion. The specific structure of this technical fleece promotes air circulation and wicks away body moisture, while providing significant thermal insulation during static phases. The fabric’s elasticity ensures a precise fit around the torso and arms, minimizing annoying flapping on walls or ridges. The extensive use of recycled polyester reflects a more responsible approach to manufacturing, without compromising the performance expected of mountaineering apparel.

A design focused on range of motion

The design of the Millet KAMET GRID mountaineering fleece places a strong emphasis on mobility, which is essential during technical climbs. The raglan sleeve construction frees up the shoulders and allows for a wide range of motion, which is particularly appreciated when using ice axes or trekking poles. Seamless underarm panels reduce friction points and enhance long-term comfort, especially when the fleece is worn under a harness or backpack. Seamless underarm panels help minimize irritation in this sensitive area, even during the most intense days of mountaineering or ski touring.

Functional details for use with a harness

The design of the Millet KAMET GRID mountaineering fleece incorporates details geared toward climbing on rock faces or while roped up.The front zippered opening with a protective flap facilitates temperature regulation while protecting the neck from direct contact with the zipper. The high collar provides additional protection for the neck, which is appreciated during windy approaches at high altitudes. The two zippered hand pockets, designed for use with a climbing harness, remain accessible even when the harness is on, allowing you to keep small essentials within reach. The hem and cuffs are fitted with elasticated bias binding, which helps keep the fleece in place under a mountaineering jacket and minimizes air infiltration. A Millet screen print on the chest reinforces the brand’s identity on this technical garment.

The Millet KAMET GRID mountaineering fleece is thus a technical mid-layer, designed for winter mountaineering and demanding mountain excursions.
