Designed for young skiers and snowboarders who are just learning, the Dakine WRISTGUARD JR GLOVE addresses a real need on the slopes: protecting children’s wrists during falls, while providing warmth and comfort in cold weather. Their removable nylon wrist guard is their most distinctive feature, complemented by waterproofing provided by a DK Dry™ insert. This junior model is designed for kids who are improving their skiing or snowboarding skills and whose hands need serious protection.

Wrist Protection in the Dakine WRISTGUARD JR GLOVE

Forward falls, common among beginners, expose the wrists to significant stress that can lead to hyperextension or fractures. The WRISTGUARD JR GLOVE features a removable nylon wrist guard that helps reduce these risks without unnecessarily adding weight or stiffness to the glove. This protection can be removed depending on conditions or personal preference, allowing the gear to adapt as the child’s skill level progresses. An external hook-and-loop strap provides additional wrist support for a secure fit.

Insulation and waterproofing to keep hands warm on the slopes

Hi Loft synthetic insulation retains its thermal properties even when wet, which is a real advantage in wet snow conditions or during repeated falls. The 300g fleece lining enhances heat retention against the skin. The DK Dry™ insert provides a waterproof barrier while allowing internal moisture to escape, thereby minimizing the feeling of dampness inside the glove. The recycled polyester shell also features a DWR treatment that helps water bead up and roll off the surface.

Palm and Finishes for Everyday Durability

The Rubbertec palm, made of 100% polyurethane, offers reliable grip on chairlifts, poles, and boards, while withstanding repeated abrasion. The removable wrist strap makes it easy to put on and take off the gloves—a practical feature appreciated in everyday use, especially by parents dressing young children. The entire construction is designed for heavy-duty use throughout a full season of skiing and snowboarding.
