Designed for racing skiers, the LEKI WCR CORE TR MITT mittens are intended for demanding use: alpine racing and technical alpine skiing, where grip precision and thermal protection are non-negotiable. Unisex, they feature integrated finger channels that allow for targeted freedom of movement within the mitten, as well as a snug Race Fit with a pronounced pre-curve that naturally conforms to the hand’s position during activity.

The Race Fit cut, which is snug and features a pronounced pre-curve, positions the hand in an optimal configuration for holding the poles without unnecessary effort. This design is complemented by the Trigger system, which ensures a direct connection and quick attachment or detachment with all compatible Trigger alpine poles, providing enhanced control in all conditions. The palm, made of goatskin leather, features silicone-reinforced grip pads to improve traction on the grip, even in wet or cold conditions.

Thermal Protection and Water Resistance in Winter Conditions

Thermal comfort is achieved through a combination of complementary insulation materials: Thinsulate™ is used on the palm, where warmth must be retained without compromising sensitivity, while Hyperloft provides insulation on the back of the hand for voluminous yet lightweight warmth. The SOFT-TEX® membrane, made of 100% thermoplastic polyurethane, ensures waterproofing and wind resistance while remaining pleasantly soft to the touch. With a four-star rating for warmth and waterproofing according to the manufacturer’s data, these mittens are designed for competition days or intense training in extreme cold.

Structural reinforcements for endurance during races

The flexible, ceramic-reinforced padding on the fingers and the back of the hand absorbs the repeated stress caused by gripping poles and potential impacts, without making the entire mitten stiff. The shell incorporates softshell elements that contribute to the overall flexibility of the construction, allowing the integrated finger channels to function fully: guiding each finger independently within the mitten’s interior to combine collective warmth with individual mobility.
