The wide front tip and strong rocker make this ski a pleasure to ski downhill. It's easy to get through difficult snow, and we're surprised by its ability to hold trajectories on hardpack. In powder, it's quick off the mark.
The 89mm runner is the right compromise for ski touring. It's just the right width for off-piste skiing, but not too wide to maintain grip on uphill, downhill or in hard snow conditions.
On ascents, if you combine the Speedguide 89 with lightweight bindings and skins that glide, you'll achieve very good performance. Pipette tights will be in your sights...not sure they'll follow on the way down.
