Choosing your Nordic walking poles
Nordic walking is a complete physical activity that requires the use of specific poles. The choice of poles is crucial to maximise the benefits and comfort of the activity.
The right size :
To find your pole size, you need to do the following calculation: your height in cm x 0.68.
Round down to the nearest unit if you want a leisurely walk and round up to the nearest unit if you want a sporty walk.
Example :
You are 1m75: 175*0.68=119
So we'll take 115 cm if we want to go easy and 120 cm if we want to emphasise upper body work.
Materials:
Avoid aluminium poles, which transmit all vibrations and end up causing joint pain. Fibre and carbon composite poles are more comfortable, while pure carbon poles are more toned and require more effort.
