Walk of the week
Are you on vacation in the Pays de la Loire region? Try out this hike with its refreshing views, right next to the city of Nantes!
Whether you're from Nantes or just passing through, this hike is easily accessible from Nantes! We're back in the Pays de la Loire region for a walk full of greenery. If you like to enjoy the countryside without having to climb to the heights of the greatest mountaineers, then this is the route for you. You'll need around 3 hours to complete this soothing walk, which weaves its way between woodland and plain. Don't forget your water bottle! It's easy to get started, so you can easily take the whole family along for the ride! By the time you arrive, you'll have covered more than 10 km, ideal for keeping fit while having fun and admiring the view! However, it's best to go in dry weather, as the path can be slippery when wet. To cover many kilometers effortlessly, don't hesitate to bring your poles.
All the information and opinions on this hike and those in the surrounding area can be found at our partner Visorando!
Route:
To start this walk, you can park at the Gergaudières parking lot at the end of Impasse de la Pommeraie in Treillières. Then take the right-hand path, which runs due north, and turn left at the intersection. After turning left and then right on the road, you'll continue towards the Moulin du Fort de l'Evêque. Once you've passed the Moulin du Fort l'Evêque, turn right onto a track under a power line. At the end of the track, turn left to cross the stream, which will take you to a place called Le Brûlis. This will take you to the heart of La Ménardais, where you turn right to continue through the village, heading north-east. Turn right onto chemin de la Houssais, then left onto route du Pont de Gué. Turn right just before this to discover a charming little pond. You can then cross the rue de la Frosnière before reaching a crossroads with a road and continuing to the left. After the intersection with the Lounière, turn left. Continue straight ahead at the crossroads of the four roads. Then, just past the crow's-foot, you'll come to the Noë Violin crossroads. Turn right into La Cathelinière. Turn right again, then left, and you'll be able to go straight back to the start parking lot.
