The Sentier des Douaniers runs along the coast of Corsica from Macinaggio to Barcaggio, past beaches and cliffs with breathtaking views. This trail boasts an exceptional natural and human heritage. Along the way, you'll discover the Santa Maria chapel and the tower of the same name, all with a view of the Finocchiarola islands. Then you'll come across the Punta di Agnello tower and finally the beach at Barcaggio, with a view of theisland of La Giraglia.
The average duration of this walk is 8hrs 40mins for a distance of 24.88km with a positive difference in altitude of 538m. It's a demanding hike, given the length of the route, and you'll need good hiking boots as well as a rucksack with plenty ofwater and food. Walking poles could also help you progress.
Despite its fairly high level of difficulty, the Sentier des Douaniers is nonetheless an ideal way to recharge your batteries and take in some extraordinary scenery.
