Unlike cartridge-based systems, this device can be recharged in the mountains using two AA batteries in 40 minutes, or via a micro-USB cable in 20 minutes, eliminating the need for specialized infrastructure. An automatic pressure relief valve activates 3 minutes after inflation to preserve the integrity of the airbag, which has a deployed volume of 162 liters. The mechanical trigger is accessible from both shoulder straps, and an LCD screen displays the AA battery level and the supercapacitor charge status in real time. This backpack is certified as PPE Cat. II in accordance with the EN 16716:2017 standard and is TÜV-certified; these two certifications attest to the product’s compliance with European regulatory requirements for personal protective equipment. It is important to note that this type of equipment reduces risk but does not eliminate it.

The bSPINE EVO back panel distributes weight across the shoulders, while the adjustable hip belt—featuring a quick-release buckle—and the chest strap with an integrated emergency whistle allow for a precise fit tailored to the wearer’s body type. The retractable safety leg strap provides additional support in the event of airbag deployment. For carrying skis, the pack features a retractable diagonal system, an A-frame carry system, and a snowboard-compatible front system, along with retractable attachments for an ice axe and poles. The retractable helmet attachment keeps your hands free during transitions, and gear loops provide additional attachment points.

Interior Organization and Avalanche Safety Gear

The 30-liter main compartment includes a dedicated space for avalanche safety gear, organized with pockets for easy access to the avalanche transceiver, probe, and shovel. An interior pocket protects valuables, and an interior mesh pocket further organizes your belongings. Emergency instructions are printed directly on the pack—a practical precaution in critical situations. A carrying handle makes it easy to handle the pack when not on your back.
