MSR GUARDIAN GRAVITY PURIFIER
The GUARDIAN GRAVITY PURIFIER by MSR is available from Speck-Sports.
Ideal for use in developing countries, the Guardian Gravity purifier removes 99.99% of viruses, bacteria, protozoa and other particles from water. In fact, it complies with the NSF P248 standard used by the US army for eliminating viruses, bacteria, protozoa and sediment from the most insalubrious waters.
The 10-litre tank is easy to fill, whether from a tap or a river, and can be suspended to deliver a flow rate of 0.5 L/min at an optimum height of 2.5 metres. Filtration is via an activated carbon filter and a 0.02 micron hollow fibre cartridge. With a lifespan of 3000 litres, you'll have plenty of time to travel around the world with this purifier.
When it comes to maintenance, there' s no need to backflush: simply open the purge hose to clean the system and restore the flow.
Once in its storage bag, the Guardian Gravity takes up very little space and will go everywhere with you.
