The Skitrab MAGICO.2 skis are designed for a unisex audience of experienced and expert ski tourers looking for a lightweight ski that lets them tackle one elevation gain after another while maintaining power on the descent. Designed for ski touring and outings on all types of terrain and snow conditions, they stand out for their carbon construction and their lightweight, high-performance Aramid Honeycomb Aero Core. Their 85 mm waist and 21 m radius offer precise and controlled handling, while the Tip-Tail rocker ensures a progressive turn initiation.

A lightweight touring ski for performance on both ascents and descents

Designed for ski touring, the Skitrab MAGICO.2 skis prioritize lightness without sacrificing stability. Weighing approximately 998 g per ski in the standard 171 cm length, they make long ascents easier to manage, reducing fatigue during repeated transitions. According to the manufacturer’s data, the MAGICO.2 is described as a lightweight touring ski offering an optimal balance between uphill performance and downhill power—a valuable asset for routes involving significant elevation changes and varied snow conditions. This balance between weight and edge grip makes it a model well-suited for demanding outings that alternate between ascents and more challenging downhill sections.

A carbon and Aramid Honeycomb construction for a precise and reliable ski

Skitrab MAGICO.2 skis feature a carbon construction combined with an Aramid Honeycomb Aero Core, which integrates aramid, a honeycomb structure, and wood based on technical research findings. This multi-material architecture aims to create a ski that is both lightweight and reliable, while providing better stress management throughout the entire structure. The 14-layer construction mentioned in the technical specifications rounds out this design to optimize flex and torsion, resulting in more consistent performance across different snow conditions. The inclusion of a high-modulus carbon sleeve further enhances torsional stiffness to maintain good grip when the terrain becomes more challenging.

Sidecut and Tip-Tail rocker for controlled handling

In the standard 171 cm length, the Skitrab MAGICO.2 skis feature sidecuts of 117 mm at the tip, 85 mm at the waist, and 104 mm at the tail, with a turning radius of 21 m. This geometry promotes a progressive turn, which is useful for maintaining precision in both wide turns and sharper turns. The Tip-Tail rocker contributes to a smoother turn initiation at the tip while providing forgiveness at the tail, which helps manage changes in rhythm on occasionally uneven snow. The dimensions described in the research data—with a radius close to 20.8 m and sidecuts of 118-87-104 mm on a similar size— confirm the MAGICO.2’s positioning as a touring ski geared toward stability and precision rather than very tight turns.

Technical Details of the Skitrab MAGICO.2 Skis

To round out the description, a few technical features are worth highlighting to better understand the profile of the Skitrab MAGICO.2 Skis.

• 14-layer construction: a complex structure for a stable ski that maintains consistent performance over time.
• Aramid and wood core: a balance between lightness and support underfoot for long ski-touring trips.
• High-modulus carbon sleeve: increased torsional stiffness to maintain good grip in technical conditions.
• Weight around 998 g (size 171 cm): a lightweight design that makes repeated ascents easier while still providing solid performance on the descent.
• Made in Italy: precision manufacturing for a ski specifically designed for experienced and expert ski tourers.

The Skitrab MAGICO.2 skis stand out as lightweight unisex touring skis, featuring a carbon and Aramid Honeycomb Aero Core construction, designed to offer a balance between climbing efficiency and control on descents across varied terrain.
