Blue Ice GRIFFIN 10 Crampons
Designed for mountaineering and ski touring, the Blue Ice Griffin 10 mountaineering crampons stand out for their universal binding system, which is compatible with all boots, whether or not they have heel flanges. Their 3D-shaped front and rear Chromoly steel rails ensure effective penetration into snow and ice, while the ABS anti-caking plates limit snow buildup underfoot. The micro-adjustable heel lever and patented sliding collar allow for precise adjustment in the field.
Blue Ice GRIFFIN 10 Crampons
The Blue Ice GRIFFIN 10 crampons are designed for all alpine activities that require versatility and lightness, whether it’s traditional mountaineering or ski touring on mixed terrain. Designed for unisex use, they stand out for their universal binding system—compatible with all boots, whether or not they have heel flanges—and their ten Chromoly steel points, whose 3D shape optimizes penetration into snow and ice.
A Chromoly steel construction for the Blue Ice GRIFFIN 10 crampons
The front and rear rails are made of 2 mm-thick Chromoly steel, an alloy known for its stiffness-to-weight ratio. The 3D geometry of these rails allows each spike to anchor effectively in the various snow and ice conditions encountered in alpine terrain. The central bar, also made of steel, ensures the cohesion of the entire assembly and contributes to the stability of the binding under load.
A universal fit for all boots
The universal binding system is one of this crampon’s key features: it adapts to all mountaineering boots, with or without heel flanges, which significantly broadens its range of use. The heel lever features a micro-adjustment mechanism that allows for precise fitting based on the shape of the foot, while the front binding system is interchangeable to accommodate different boot configurations. A patented sliding collar (currently pending approval) facilitates quick adjustments in the field, even while wearing gloves.
Comfort and safety for everyday use in the mountains
The ABS anti-caking plates, located at the front and rear, limit snow buildup under the crampon, thereby reducing the risk of slipping caused by the formation of compacted snow soles. Weighing 740 g per pair, the GRIFFIN 10 remains in the lightweight category for a ten-point steel crampon—a good balance for long mountain outings. The size range covers EU sizes 33 to 47, making this a truly unisex model in practice. Certified to CE EN 893 and UIAA 153 standards, they meet current technical standards for mountaineering equipment. Made in Italy, they come with a dedicated storage bag.
