Designed for male hikers who go on multi-day hikes in cool weather, the Schöffel Folkstone Warm M are hiking pants that combine warmth and freedom of movement. Their softshell fabric, which incorporates spandex, offers 4-way stretch that moves with every stride and every climb without restricting movement. Designed for variable conditions, they combine a water-repellent finish with active moisture management to keep you comfortable over time.
The Schöffel Folkstone Warm M in Winter Conditions
The Folkstone Warm M is part of the winter collection, and this is evident in its construction. The warm lining serves as the first line of defense against the cold during high-altitude or forest hikes when temperatures drop. The softshell fabric, made of polyamide, polyester, and spandex, combines durability with flexibility: it withstands repeated contact with vegetation or rocks without premature wear. The DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment repels light water splashes and keeps the pants functional in overcast weather, while the moisture-wicking design prevents sweat buildup during physical activity.
A cut designed for comfort in motion
The Regular Fit provides enough room to layer a warm garment underneath without feeling constricted. The pre-shaped knees conform to the leg’s natural shape from the very first time you put them on, reducing chafing during long descents or technical sections. The elastic waistband adapts to changes in body shape throughout the day, and the adjustable hem lets you adjust the length depending on the type of shoes you’re wearing. Weighing 392 grams, the Folkstone Warm M remains reasonably lightweight for winter pants, without unnecessarily adding weight to your pack.
Thoughtful storage for outdoor adventures
The pocket layout is designed to meet practical hiking needs. Two zippered side slit pockets provide quick access to essentials without having to remove gloves; a zippered thigh pocket securely holds small items frequently needed along the way; and a zippered back pocket rounds out the set for documents or a phone. This balanced distribution prevents weight from concentrating in a single area and makes access easy even under a jacket or a snug-fitting backpack.
The Schöffel Folkstone Warm M Hiking Pants are available in Black, in sizes ranging from 46 to 58, to accommodate a wide variety of men’s body types.
