What are the advantages of buying winter clearance?
Buying winter clearance items on the Speck website has many advantages, whether for ski or mountaineering enthusiasts. Here's why it's an excellent opportunity:
- Substantial savings: The main advantage of winter clearance is the opportunity to buy quality equipment at greatly reduced prices. Items are often significantly discounted, which means great savings on top brand equipment.
- Access to top-of-the-range products: During clearance periods, you can afford to buy products from well-known brands (such as Salomon, Rossignol, k2, etc.) that are usually expensive because of their extraordinary quality. So you get top-quality equipment at a reduced price.
- Renew your equipment: De-stocking allows you to renew or complete your equipment at a lower cost, whether it's ski boots, thermal clothing, masks, a ski bag or safety equipment. This is particularly advantageous for those who need to replace worn-out or outdated equipment.
- Early preparation for the season: Buying your ski equipment from Speck's stockists means you can get ready early for the winter season, while taking advantage of the best offers before products are sold out. That way, you'll have plenty of time to test and adjust your gear before heading out on your adventure. Variety of options: Stock clearance often allows you to find products from previous collections that are just as good, but available in limited quantities. This means you benefit from a wide range of products that are still perfectly suited to your needs, without having to wait for new collections.
- Products still in excellent condition: Contrary to what you might think, clearance products are new. They are simply last year's equipment.
- Discounts on seasonal items: Winter equipment such as jackets, gloves, boots or skis are often sold at higher prices at the start of the season. By buying from our stockists, you can take advantage of discounts on products that are sometimes in high demand as winter approaches.

Determining which Nordic ski size to choose is more complicated. We do our best to indicate the size guide on each product. Here's some basic information: Choosing your Nordic skis.
Mounting brackets
At Speck, we offer free mounting and adjustment of ski and snowboard bindings. We want to ensure you have the best possible experience on the slopes by making sure your bindings are properly adjusted to your needs.
In order to proceed with the fitting, we need some essential information from you. Please provide us with your height, weight, skill level, and boot size in millimeters. These details will allow us to select the appropriate settings for your bindings, taking into account your body type and personal preferences.
For our ski touring customers, it is also important to let us know the brand and model of your boots. This will help us ensure perfect compatibility between your boots and ski touring bindings. You can fill in this information when you make your purchase, in the boxes provided for this purpose.
Please note that if you do not specify, the bindings will be mounted in the standard position.
How do I choose the right ski jacket?
When choosing your ski jacket, look for one that is waterproof (minimum water column indicator of 10,000 mm), breathable and insulating. Make sure it also has practical features such as zipped pockets, an adjustable hood and underarm vents for better temperature regulation.
How do you know if a pair of ski trousers is waterproof enough?
Check the waterproof rating, measured in millimetres (mm). Trousers with a rating of at least 10,000 mm are considered waterproof and will protect you from snow and damp. If you're skiing in wet or powdery conditions, opt for a higher waterproof rating (15,000 mm or more).
Do I need to wear thermal underwear under my ski suit?
Yes, thermal underwear is essential for staying warm and dry. They wick away perspiration while maintaining body heat, especially in mid-layers under your ski jacket and trousers.
