The CHOUCAS LIGHT is specifically designed to meet the demands of ski mountaineering and climbing in winter conditions. The waist buckle features a quickly adjustable release clip, while the leg loops also open via a clip system, allowing for quick adjustments or putting on the harness even while wearing gloves. These two systems combined significantly reduce the time needed for adjustments during transitions, when every second counts.

Technical Materials Designed for Lightweight Performance

The construction of the CHOUCAS LIGHT is based on a rigorous selection of materials. UHMW polyethylene, known for its excellent abrasion resistance despite its low density, is combined with high-tenacity polyester for the straps, ensuring both durability and flexibility. The acetal buckles provide a reliable hold and withstand sub-zero temperatures, while the aluminum structural components keep the overall weight down without compromising the assembly’s strength. The polyamide monofilament rounds out the design by providing rigidity where needed.

Functional gear for mountaineering and ski mountaineering

Despite its compact size, the CHOUCAS LIGHT doesn’t skimp on attachment points. It features two gear loops and two ice screw loops positioned on the thighs, with elastic retention loops to secure the ice screws without letting them dangle. The double harness loop provides the versatility needed for different uses, whether climbing on ice or at a belay station. This harness is CE/EN 12277 Type C and UIAA certified, attesting to its compliance with current safety standards for mountaineering harnesses, and was designed specifically for ski mountaineering competitions.
