Trail of the Petit Ballon d'Alsace
Sunday 1 March 2020 will see the 17th edition of the Trail du Petit Ballon d'Alsace in Rouffach!
Whether you're a runner or a walker, this is your chance to discover some historic trails and have a great time with friends and family. As every year, the organisers are offering different race formats:
Le Petit Ballon: 54km with 2200m ascent, start at 8am (3 ITRA points)
This is the longest course, with 1,200 runners on the start line. The route is fairly straightforward, involving a return trip to the summit of the Petit Ballon, but this year in the form of a loop. First, the runners will have the chance to cross part of the Alsatian vineyards before arriving in the heart of the forests before tackling the ascent of the Col du Boenlesgrab at 865m and the Hilsen at 1100m to finish at the summit with a superb 360° view.
Les Grands Crus: 28km with 900m of ascent, starting at 9.30am (1 ITRA point)
- Zinnkoepftrail (Ex sixteenth): 16km with 600m ascent, start at 9am
- L'Âne (new course): 8km with 200m ascent, start at 9.50am
