Focus on Head Kore 1 shoes
Like all the other alpine ski boot brands, Head is now positioning itself in the high-performance Freerando boot segment. These boots are designed for good and very good skiers who want to fit low-tech bindings to their all-mountain or freeride skis. The aim is not to cover thousands of metres of D+, but to have a boot that is light and efficient enough to find the right slope outside the ski area.
The new Head Kore 1 Freerando boot
This new Kore 1 pair has some serious advantages:
Lightness and range of motion:
The construction uses powdered Graphene to minimize weight on the scales. Easily-adjustable "Superlegerra" buckles also work in this direction. Each shoe weighs in at 1.645 kg. Which puts it right up there with its best competitors. The Fischer Ranger Free 130, for example. The ski-walk system offers 45° of amplitude, enough for moderate uphill use and really comfortable when you don't have your skis on: waiting line, après-ski :). We've got low-tech inserts, too. The sole is Grip Walk standard.
Downhill performance:
4 hooks, 130 flex, duo flex technology, strap. Downhill performance is just like that of a high-end piste shoe. Precise, it perfectly transmits the impulses you need to steer your skis. The 130 flex of this boot is a little softer than a 130 racing boot, and that's no bad thing.
Maximum comfort:
This Head Kore 1 features a Perfect fit 3d custom liner that's perfectly comfortable and adjustable. The big new feature is the Liquid fit system for a perfect fit around the malleoli.
