The Blizzard Anomaly 88 is designed for advanced skiers looking for a versatile ski that’s just as at home on groomed runs as it is off-piste. With a waist width of 88 mm, this ski strikes a balanced all-mountain profile—narrow enough to carve through hard snow with precision, yet wide enough to handle fresh powder with ease. Its construction combines technical precision with forgiveness in a variety of mountain conditions, making it a reliable companion from the start to the end of the season. The Blizzard Anomaly 88 succeeds the Brahma 88 by offering a more versatile approach, without sacrificing the carving qualities that made its predecessor famous.

An all-mountain profile designed for experienced skiers

The Blizzard Anomaly 88 is aimed at advanced skiers who want a single ski to cover the entire ski area. On the piste, the 16.5-meter radius (for the 176-cm length) allows for crisp, dynamic turns with solid edge grip coming out of the turn. Off-piste or on groomed snow, the ski offers surprising maneuverability for its category. It’s not a specialized freeride ski, but it handles occasional off-piste excursions and the changing snow conditions encountered during a day of skiing with ease.

Dimensions and radius: the perfect width for all-mountain skiing

The dimensions of 127.5 / 88 / 109.5 mm (in the 176 cm length) define a ski with a generous tip to facilitate turn initiation and a tail that’s substantial enough to ensure stability when exiting turns. The 88 mm waist width is a thoughtful compromise: it guarantees enough contact surface to float in a few centimeters of powder, while maintaining direct contact with hard snow when the edges come into play. The 16.5-meter turning radius makes the ski ideal for medium to medium-long turns, suited for carving wide turns on the piste or navigating varied terrain.

Rocker-Camber-Rocker Profile: Grip and Versatility Combined

The Rocker-Camber-Rocker profile is at the heart of the Anomaly 88’s performance. The central camber maintains firm contact with the snow underfoot, ensuring precise carving and efficient power transfer. The rocker zones at the tip and tail make it easier to initiate turns and reduce the tendency to get stuck in soft or uneven snow. This hybrid profile makes the ski more accessible than a fully cambered ski would be, without sacrificing the engagement required by an advanced skier.

TrueBlend and FluxForm Construction: Stability and Controlled Flex

The Blizzard Anomaly 88’s construction is based on several technical elements that work together. Here are the key components that define its performance:

• TrueBlend All-Mountain Core: A blend of poplar and beech modulates flex along the entire length of the ski—stiffer in the center for stability, softer at the tips for easier turn initiation.
• FluxForm All-Mountain Construction: split titanal laminates enhance the ski’s articulation and maintain edge grip in challenging conditions.
• Compound Sidewall (Ti) Sandwich: This sidewall structure enhances force transfer between the skier’s foot and the snow, delivering a direct, precise response.

The Blizzard Anomaly 88 is ideal for advanced skiers who ski the entire mountain and want a versatile ski that’s precise on the piste and comfortable enough to venture off-piste. Available in lengths from 164 to 188 cm, it adapts to a variety of body types and skiing styles. If your skiing includes both groomed runs and all-terrain alpine skiing, this model deserves serious consideration.
