Skitrab CARBON SPEED POLES Ski Poles

A single-strand carbon/Kevlar pole designed for performance in ski mountaineering

The Skitrab CARBON SPEED POLES is a ski mountaineering pole designed for demanding athletes who won’t compromise on weight or stiffness. Its single-strand construction combines carbon and Kevlar to deliver direct power transfer with every push, without the excess weight sometimes associated with other materials. Skitrab positions this model as a competition tool, designed for ski mountaineering races where every gram counts.

Construction and Performance: Carbon, Kevlar, and Single-Strand

The single-strand structure of the CARBON SPEED POLES ensures optimal stiffness along the entire length of the pole, with no weak points associated with an adjustment system. Carbon ensures remarkable lightness—the pole weighs just 160 g for the 140 cm size—while the Kevlar reinforcement improves resistance to mechanical stress and overall stiffness. However, it’s important to note that carbon remains more susceptible to lateral impacts than aluminum: a violent collision with an obstacle can weaken the structure, which means the poles must be used appropriately for the discipline. The Widia carbide tip provides a firm grip on hard snow and varied terrain—an essential feature in competitive mountaineering.

Grip and comfort: cork handle and contoured strap

The ergonomic vertical cork grip naturally absorbs sweat and adapts to the shape of the hand during long outings. The contoured strap follows your movement without constricting the wrist, ensuring efficient propulsion with every push. Together, these two features provide precise and comfortable support, even in race conditions.

Directional basket and all-terrain versatility

The Gara Pro directional basket is specifically designed for ski mountaineering: its oriented geometry enhances grip during both ascents and descents on packed snow and race terrain. This choice of a compact basket is consistent with the discipline, where lightness and precision take precedence over float in powder snow. The pole is available in 135- and 140-cm lengths, covering the standard sizes used in competitive ski mountaineering.

For ski mountaineers seeking a ski pole that combines extreme lightness, structural rigidity, and performance-oriented features, the Skitrab CARBON SPEED POLES are a choice that meets the demands of competition. Its low weight, uncompromising construction, and technical components make it a tool that’s ready for action in ski mountaineering races.
