The Leki VENOM SL TR is an alpine ski pole designed specifically for slalom racing, both in training and competition. Its hybrid construction combinesHTS 6.5 aluminum and aramid-reinforced carbon (PRC 1000), offering impact resistance and controlled lightness. Part of LEKI’s World Cup Race series, it’s designed for demanding skiers seeking responsiveness and control when navigating the gates.

Hybrid construction: strength and precision for slalom

The VENOM SL TR’s two-section, fixed-length design ensures direct energy transfer and consistent stiffness, with no play or loss of feedback. The shaft has a diameter of 16/14 mm, designed to absorb repeated impacts against the gates without altering the pole’s trajectory. The Ultrasonic finish and the aluminum protective sleeve that reinforces the upper section improve flex behavior while minimizing the risk of breakage upon impact with the gates. Aramid-reinforced carbon provides lightness and stiffness but remains susceptible to intense lateral impacts: the aluminum sleeve specifically compensates for this weakness in the most exposed area. The Flex Tip with a carbide insert ensures a firm grip on groomed or icy snow, typical of competition terrain.

Grip and Safety: The Trigger 3D SL System

The Trigger 3D SL grip and the Trigger Frame Strap form a system designed for a direct connection between the hand and the pole. The system offers quick engagement and release, as well as a multidirectional release mechanism that allows the hand to disengage from the pole in the event of a fall. This grip-and-strap combination reduces strain on the wrist while maintaining precise control during tight turns in slalom.

Availability and Course Compatibility

The Leki VENOM SL TR is available in lengths of 115, 120, and 125 cm, covering the adult sizes typically used in slalom. Weighing approximately 311 g for the 120 cm model (per pair), it remains lightweight for a race-oriented pole. The compact racing basket is suited for groomed runs and competition courses where a wide basket would be a hindrance. The Bright Red-Violet-Neon Yellow color scheme enhances visibility on the course.
