The Leki VENOM SL TR is an alpine ski pole designed for slalom competition and training on gates. Its hybrid construction combines an HTS 6.5 aluminum protective sleeve on the upper section—which is particularly exposed to repeated impacts from the gates—with a lower shaft made of aramid-reinforced PRC 1000 carbon to keep the weight down. This combination of materials aims to achieve a precise balance between durability and lightness, ensuring consistent swing performance with every gate pass.

Hybrid Construction: Protection and Responsiveness for Racing

The Leki VENOM SL TR’s structure features a fixed length in two sections, with a tube diameter of 16 mm in the upper section and 14 mm in the lower section. This geometry contributes to the overall stiffness of the pole and ensures precise footing during tight turns. The aluminum sleeve protects the area most subject to stress during contact with the gates, while the lighter carbon section reduces inertia at the tip of the pole. Note that carbon remains more susceptible to lateral impacts than aluminum alone: the upper sleeve is specifically designed to address this stress specific to slalom use. The Flex Tip made of carbide ensures a firm grip on hard piste snow.

A grip designed for competition: the Trigger 3D system

The Trigger 3D SL grip and the Trigger Frame Strap form a system designed to maintain a direct connection between the hand, the glove, and the pole. The Trigger 3D system features a multidirectional release mechanism that frees the hand in the event of a fall, minimizing stress on the wrist during off-piste runs. The Trigger Frame Strap wraps precisely around the wrist, with no unnecessary slack, so that every push is transmitted without energy loss. The set is available in neon colors, visible in all training conditions.

Sizes and Terrain Compatibility

The Leki VENOM SL TR is available in lengths from 110 to 135 cm in 5-cm increments, covering a wide range of body types among competitive skiers. The Racing basket is designed for the groomed course conditions found in slalom.
