Leki WYLDBIRD TR Ski Pole

A sturdy and precise freeride pole for demanding off-piste conditions

The Leki WYLDBIRD TR is a ski pole designed for freeriders and off-piste skiers looking for a reliable tool in the most challenging conditions. Its single-section HTS 6.5 aluminum construction provides exceptional durability against impacts from varied terrain, while delivering direct energy transfer with every push. With a design geared toward demanding downhill skiing, it’s ideal for skiers—both men and women—seeking precision and stability off-piste.

Grip and Control: The Trigger 3D System for Freeriding

LEKI’s Trigger 3D ProG grip features an ergonomic design tailored to the shape of the fingers, combined with a grippy rubber material that ensures a firm grip even in wet conditions or when wearing gloves. The Trigger 3D system establishes a direct connection between the hand and the pole, with quick engagement and release of the wrist strap, which improves both control during pole plant and safety in the event of a fall. The Trigger Frame Mesh Strap, available in one size, completes this package by securing the hand without constricting it, and is compatible with a wide variety of ski gloves.

Construction and Stiffness: HTS 6.5 Single-Strand Aluminum

The WYLDBIRD TR features a fixed-length, single-piece monostrand design, eliminating any weak points associated with assembly or adjustment mechanisms. The 16 mm diameter HTS 6.5 aluminum tube ensures optimal stiffness for transferring force during descents, without the risk of deformation under lateral stress. Unlike carbon, aluminum offers better resistance to the repeated shocks and impacts typical of off-piste skiing, making it a logical choice for intensive use on rugged terrain. The steel tip integrated into the tube guarantees reliable grip on both hard and transformed snow.

Terrain Versatility: Baskets Adapted to Changing Conditions

The Leki WYLDBIRD TR comes with the Cobra Alpine basket, designed for versatile use on both groomed and off-piste terrain. For days in deep powder or on big mountain terrain, it’s compatible with the interchangeable Big Mountain basket, which offers a wider contact surface to prevent the pole from sinking into fresh snow. This interchangeability allows you to adapt the pole to the day’s conditions without changing your gear. Available sizes, ranging from 120 to 130 cm, and the vibrant three-tone color scheme offer a range suitable for unisex use.

Sturdy, precise, and designed for the most demanding backcountry activities, the Leki WYLDBIRD TR meets the expectations of freeriders who value the reliability of aluminum and the responsiveness of a fixed length. Its compatibility with two different baskets makes it a versatile companion for tackling a variety of terrains throughout the season.
