The LEKI MEZZA ULTRALITE TR is a ski touring pole designed for demanding skiers seeking to combine extreme lightness with efficient power transfer. Made from PRC 1000 carbon composite, it weighs just 132 g per pole—a decisive advantage in ski mountaineering competitions. Its design meets the specific needs of ski touring races, where every gram counts and every pole plant must be precise.

Carbon Construction: Lightweight and Stiff for Maximum Performance

The PRC 1000 carbon composite shaft of the MEZZA ULTRALITE TR offers high stiffness that promotes direct energy transfer with every push. This stiffness, combined with a featherweight of 132 g per pole, reduces muscle fatigue on long climbs. However, it’s important to keep in mind that carbon, unlike aluminum, is more susceptible to lateral impacts: careful handling on rocky terrain is still recommended. The pole’s fixed length ensures maximum overall stiffness, with no moving parts that could cause play.

Competition-oriented grip and ergonomics

The grip incorporates the Nordic Shark / Trigger Shark system, which allows for quick release of the hand without removing a glove—a decisive advantage during race transitions. An +8° adjustment zone is built directly into the grip to optimize the holding angle and reduce strain on the wrist. The Trigger Shark Mesh Strap is adjustable and features a quick-release mechanism, facilitating the ascent-descent transitions typical of ski mountaineering. The foam grip extension allows you to adjust your grip according to slope angles or changes in pace, without altering the pole’s length.

Interchangeable basket and asymmetric steel tip

The MEZZA ULTRALITE TR is equipped with either a Contour Binding Basket or an XS Contour Binding Basket, both of which are interchangeable depending on terrain and snow conditions. This modularity allows the pole to be adapted to various disciplines, from competition trails to off-piste snow. The asymmetric hard metal carbide tip ensures precise grip on hard snow and ice—conditions commonly encountered in ski mountaineering. The available sizes, 135 and 140 cm, cover the most common heights for competitive use.
